New Season Begins -- at least the Pre-Season

Well, tomorrow I'll start back on the Tri-schedule building back up my base. I'm certainly looking forward to the schedule and getting back in the grove, but at the same time I'm going to miss some of the non-scheduled aspects of my time that I've had over the last two months.

As I figured, our vacation has added about 5 pounds to my weight. Part of this weight was added as I tried to fight off a bit of a cold that Oldest Mini Team BRAZO was kind enough to pass along to me over the vacation. I was able to run through the cold for the most part but in order to feel better and to gain energy, I ate plenty and often.

One of the parts of the Tri-schedule that I'm not looking forward to -- is the swimming. I certainly don't mind open water swimming and the swim during the IronMan was one of the major highlights for me -- but it is quite boring to swim laps and I'm also stuck with the local pool schedule -- which makes it harder to do it on the fly. I haven't touch the water since the IronMan swim.

As I stated in earlier posts, I'll be using the same tri-schedule that I used last year. This seemed to work well with weeks in the 7 to 8 hour range for the first part of the schedule. If your interested, here is a link to the schedule that I'll be following (or you can click on the "BRAZO's Training Peaks.com" Icon on the upper left.

Enjoy your day...
