Three years ago when I started running again, I needed an online log that I could use to track my progress and to look back at my miles completed. I used a training log at http://www.winningstats.com/ -- this worked great until I started my IronMan training. Winningstats.com does have a log for the swim, bike, and run -- but it would just be too hard to enter my data with their format.
So, I decided I just wouldn't use a log and off I went.
Well, I got into the summer months and began to follow Simply Stu's and Rural Girl's training log and plan via TrainingPeaks.com. I would check their logs each day to see how they felt on their runs/swims/bike and also review what they had planned for the week and coming weeks - in order to compare to how I felt and my upcoming plan.
I used parts of their plans to create my own training plan for IronMan. Simply Stu and Rural Girl were both trained by a coach, so I had some confidence that their training plan would be close to what I needed. I also searched all over the Internet for other training plans just to make sure my plan was in line with the others.
Yesterday I signed up for FREE with TrainingPeaks.com -- if you just log your data and don't use any of the Premium services, then they provide it for free. If you click on the "Team BRAZO's Training Peaks" icon (upper left of the blog) -- you'll see the Public view of my training plan and actual training. Once at the Public view, if you click on the link that says "View This Week's Actual workouts ", then you can click through each week to see the upcoming training plan.
There are many FREE training logs out there (trifuel.com, beginnertriathlete.com, nike.com, winningstats.com, etc) -- but for me TrainingPeaks.com looked like the easiest to use for IronMan training.
