So, this is how my IronMan training has been going so far this year – one week I’m doing 12 hours and feeling great. Then the next week, my personal/work schedule gets in the way and I’m doing 8 instead of the 12 on the schedule.
Last week I did 12 hours and my body was feeling it. Even though my workouts felt great, by the time 8PM rode around – I was done for the evening.
This weekend I didn’t have my bike with me (gas price impact – Prius goes from 50mpg to 40mpg) when we were at the Cottage and our Boat, so Sunday’s ride was not to be and neither was Monday’s ride. Then Tuesday is normally my weekly big run (10+ miles) and a hour or so bike ride – but because we were gone on Monday – my work schedule got in the way.
I still feel in pretty darn good shape and I all is good – but I hate when I just completed a great week and then the next week I feel like a slacker…

Just completed by training plan for the run up to IM FLa and I have the same concerns over work/life impact and being able to complete my plan. Someone said to me, just make every workout you do count and do your best.
