This weekend Team BRAZO will be in Michigan at the Xterra Last Stand. Oldest Mini and myself will participate in the 1/2 miles swim, 12.5 mile mtb, and 4 mile trail run. I'm not too sure what to expect on a number of different fronts:
#1 -- sometimes coming out of the water I'm a bit dizzy -- that will not mix well with the mtb
#2 -- I competed in a 10 mile WORS mtb race last October and that was a bit tiring (and I was one month removed from IMWI) -- so, swimming before and doing 12.5 miles should be a challenge.
#3 -- how warm can that water really be in mid-May? This may be my main concern -- I don't like the first jump into the pool water (fairly warm).
#4 -- went from a hamstring problem to an Achilles problem. I'm hoping I can stretch it out this week. My age is starting to catch up with me.
#5 -- I'm very interested in what the trail run will include -- is it just a run or will it be over rocks, logs, water, etc?
So, this week is a normal IronMan training week -- should be in the 12 hour range.
