Time to shut it down…

Ok, I’m here – taper time. I’m 2 ½ weeks out from IronMan Louisville, so it is time to cut back the weekly hours. I won’t shut it down completely, but go to a more relaxed workout schedule with the hours around 8 this week, 6 next week, and 4 the final week.

The taper time is one of those love / hate relationships. It is great to get off that never ending workout schedule that I have been on since November 1st 2007 – and really since September 9th 2006 when I started training for IMWI 2007. But at the same time the mind “hates” the idea of not working out and “it” has concerns that you will lose fitness.

For IMWI 2007, I felt great race day and had plenty of energy…

Dude, awesome. It's a huge thing to reach that taper - when you know the ingredients have all been added, and now it's just time to simmer. Good for you, and congrats on reaching this milestone. Looking forward to following you on race day!
