Back on the horse (slow horse) again…

Today was my first workout since the Thanksgiving day 10k Berbee Derby. My left hamstring is still a bit tight and it made the treadmill run of 35 minutes a bit slow.

I’m not sure exactly how my hamstring has gotten tight over the last few weeks, but more than likely it is because of the increased treadmill work that I have done. The weather has turned colder and we purchased a new treadmill about a month ago, so my runs are all inside now. The hamstring has bothered me for a few weeks, but of course the 10k race the other day made it much worse. I’ll just run slower for a few days and hope to bring it back to life.

This really is my first “injury / slow down” since probably two (2) years ago. I have been very lucky to be relatively injury free for some time. I attribute that to the slow pace that I use for my training – if I add to much speed (5k or 10k), I end up having a nagging injury.

Good workout – 35 minute run and 50 minutes on the bike…
