Back on the Horse...

After taking a few weeks off from doing my Long-runs, today I got back on track. For the first time in probably 3 months, I actually ran outside on the roads. The temps were in the high 30's with a bit of a mist in the air and clouds. I ran right from the house and did two (2) loops of 7 miles for a total of 14 miles.

This just wasn't your normal 14 mile run -- it was up and down and up some pretty good sized hills. In the area in which I live, we have very few hills -- thanks to the glaciers. But for some reason there are many hills close together that happen to be on the road behind our house. I've never run on those roads before, but last year I used that area on my bike to get ready for Wisconsin IronMan bike course.

Overall the run was hard -- for one, I forgot my iPod -- plus it has been awhile since I have run without watching The View or some riveting "Judge" show.

Thursday we are heading to Hilton Head for a week of R & R. We are taking the Prius with the Mountain Bikes on top, so I'm looking forward to some MTB'ing....
