They spend the day behind our ski boat wake boarding, knee boarding, and best of all wake skating. We spent probably 2 hours behind our boat and then the neighbors came by with their boat and we spent another 2 hours skiing behind their boat.
We have never wake skated before, so Oldest Mini took a try at it. The wake skate looks just like a wake board, but it has not place to put your feet into (bindings). Instead you need to figure out how to keep your feet on the board while the boat brings you out of the water. Then when you are up, you use it just like a skate board / wake board. Oldest Mini made it up without problems and then put on a show trying to jump the wake behind the boat -- problem is that the board doesn't follow your feet.
We have a Nautica inflatable with a 175hp engine -- nice boat. But our neighbors have a 22ft Ski Boat that makes our boat feel like we have a Yugo compared to their Mercedes Benz -- nicest ski boat that I have ever been on. Thankfully, I'm not one to keep up with the Jones.
Youngest Mini is all set for his triathlon tomorrow morning -- can't wait to watch him.
